Nick is a senior majoring in Public Policy and Administration and is the longest-serving current Senator, having previously served as Senate Parliamentarian, two-term Deputy Speaker of the Senate, and for nearly three years on the Segregated University Fee Allocation Committee (SUFAC). He most recently served as its Chairman, overseeing the annual allocation of over $13 million in students’ Segregated Fees, before resigning to accept the role of Speaker of the Senate.
As the first among equals, the Speaker sets the agenda and presides over weekly Senate meetings, determines student appointments to institutional committees, and serves as the primary representative of one of the two branches of student government. His tenure has been marked by a sustained commitment to strengthening the legitimacy, professionalism, and effectiveness of student governance at UW-Whitewater through multiple historic reforms, including a complete overhaul of the rules governing student elections, a fundamental reshaping of Senate Leadership, a modernization of the Seg. Fee policy, and an overhaul of the structure of Advisory Councils.

Elizabeth Vanderhei is a freshman majoring in Actuarial Science and Business Analytics. She joined WSG in fall 2025, where she serves as a Senator and member of the Segregated University Fee Allocation Committee (SUFAC). Outside of student government, Elizabeth is a dual-sport athlete, competing on both the Women's Golf and Women's Bowling Teams.
She was recently named the NTCA Division III Rookie of the Year for her bowling performance. Competing at the varsity level, she helped lead the team to several tournament wins and has quickly established herself as a strong contributor. Through golf, she has developed discipline and a willingness to learn from those around her, putting her in a position for continued growth and success.
As Elizabeth continues gaining more experience in student government, she is committed to improving efficiency across the Senate, from meetings to the legislative process, and continuing to build well-rounded relationships with all Senators.
